Although Ravinia Festival is actually located in Highland Park, it's not far from Chicago and easy to get to.  On Saturday, May 16, 2009 Ravinia is having a customer(a large percentage who happen to live in Chicago) appreciation day.  Ravinia Customer Appreciation Day means that from 9:00am until 6:00pm you can save twenty percent on tickets purchased in person from the box office.   Some tickets will be available for shows that have already sold out. From 9:00am until 2:00pm WFMT radio station will be broadcasting live from the Mirabelle restaurant.  During this time, you can pick up free souvenirs from Ravinia sponsors and sample Ravinia signature dishes from Levy Restaurants.  This event will go on rain or shine and is free!  To get to Ravinia Park, take the Chicago Metra train.  Hop on the Union Pacific North Line and get off at the Ravinia stop.  If you drive there is plenty of free parking.
